At the International Green Apple Awards, organised by the Green Organisation, Sandylands Sports Centre was awarded a Silver in the National Sports and Leisure Category, at a ceremony at the Houses of Parliament on 25 November 2019.

This was in recognition of the successful green energy schemes undertaken, namely Solar Panels, a full Biomass System and LED throughout the Sports Centre, including the floodlighting to the All-Weather Pitch. The total cost of these projects was £227,256.
